For nearly three full months, I've been looking forward to writing this letter. I am delighted to tell you we will be reopening Wynn Las Vegas and Encore soon. For us, that means we're able to finally do what drives us every day: create exceptional guest experiences.

You will receive the full Las Vegas experience at Wynn from the moment you arrive. We plan to open both Wynn and Encore hotels, 16 restaurants, 6 bars and lounges, 3 shopping esplanades, 5 pools, 2 salons, the golf course and both Wynn and Encore casinos. In other words, Vegas just as you remember it.

At Wynn Las Vegas, you'll get the full amenities you've come to know us for on day one, all under one roof, so you'll enjoy the comfort and peace of mind of never having to leave the resort.

Because we have continued to pay all our employees throughout our closure, our team has remained intact and united, ready to deliver the level of service you expect as soon as you step through our doors.

We enlisted a team of top-rated medical professionals from Georgetown and Johns Hopkins Universities to help develop our health and safety program that is now considered the gold standard in our industry. Our goal: do absolutely everything we can to ensure the health and safety of our guests, so you can enjoy a relaxing getaway.

A few things you can expect to see:
  • Non-invasive thermal temperature scans at all guest and employee entrances (no guest with a temperature of 100.4 or more will be allowed in the resort)
  • All employees wearing face coverings
  • Complimentary guest face coverings
  • Nearly 300 hand sanitizer stations throughout the resort
  • A team of cleaning professionals sanitizing guest areas 24-hours a day
All Wynn employees will be COVID-19 tested before they start work and have been thoroughly trained in health safety.

I understand that you want to make your first getaway worthwhile. We are preparing in every way possible to meet your expectation and make your vacation fun, convenient and safe.

I look forward to seeing you soon and to saying our three favorite words: Welcome to Wynn.

Warmest Regards,

Wynn and Bellagio were the two best hotels in terms of taking care of their employees during the downtime. Hope that earns them a few more visitors.

I think the Stations executives are hoping a homeless person takes up residence in the Palms and "accidently" burns the place down. It's a money pit with no identity and doesn't fit in their otherwise very successful portfolio.

Sad people are accepting this bullshit. It’s going to be a shit show. A temrapture taken before entering? Sitting around with face mask on playing blacks jack with 4 at a table. Roped off slot areas.

Yep, new norm. What a cluster fuck. And you guys are happy for this?

How do you know they didn't just take their average including tips? If it was only their hourly, they would be better off with unemployment.

Yawn. Sorry to burst your bubble, Mr. Negativity. Just give me the damn dice! Can't wait (and I know I'm not alone in saying it). Booked my trip yesterday.

Someone explain to me how this works. Wynn is saying bars are open. In what fashion. You're going to sit at a bar not wearing a mask and the bartender is going to serve you drinks literally 12-18 inches from your face. Even though you are wearing protective gear as an employee would you be comfortable with that. Is the patron smoking. How about if he coughs while your serving him a drink. Even if patrons are spaced every other seat as a bartender you will be face to face in contact with many patrons throughout the day. There are video poker machines at the bar so people might be sitting there a long time.

The Spa is supposedly open. Do you want to give or get massage in that close proximity to another person. Would you be willing to wear a mask all sweaty and strip down to a towel while getting a message. You will be breathing heavy and a mask is very uncomfortable while that is happening. If locker rooms and common areas like the steam room and whirlpool are closed how will that work. The Governor announce that with gym reopening rules. They can't let you shower at the spa. If they do then big corporate gyms like Lifetime Fitness are going to raise a stink because their members are paying $150 a month and they are operating under severe restrictions.

Are they really going to use disposable utensils in restaurants. How they hell do you cut a steak with a plastic knife.

I think nightclubs are a pipe dream for a very long time. I had heard a rumor that Wynn might try to open them. The whole idea with nightclubs are intimacy. You are there with you're girlfriend or date or you go with some guys or girls go together and try to hook up. Are they going to make people wear masks. That won't work. How do you socially distancing dancing with another person who you just met.

It's not Vegas as you remember it. It's not even close. It's like the difference between now and 500 years ago.

The Palms used to be the most happening hotel/casino in Vegas when the Maloofs owned it. The recession in 2008 and subsequent sale to Stations changed things. Even though they remodeled it a couple years ago it went from trendy to boring.

They can't figure out if they are a tourist destination or a locals casino so they try to be both

Exactly right on the Palms. Starting after the first of the year (2020) they did have better offers for locals and business did pick up a bit, but not enough to cover the nightclub debacle. It's a white elephant at this point with low-enders going across the street to Gold Coast and the middle of the road group staying with local casinos not near the strip.

Regarding re-opening...strip will have a very slow ramp up, but they have to start somewhere so let's get going. The local casinos will be packed on day one and that is where there will be a problem. It will be 110degrees tomorrow. You think as we move to summer seniors are going to stand in line (six feet apart) to wait to get their temp taken? If someone does read over 100.4, they are pulled out of line, given 15mns and retested. Remember they probably just stood outside for a period of time and if they retest at over the limit, are they detained? No word on that.

You can't really think snake lines inside the casino either as people have to be six feet apart in the line they are in plus on either side. Think of how that would work when you are in the snake line waiting for a cab? Waiting to get into the casino will be the issue. Separately, many of the outside casino, higher end popular restaurants are now pointing toward a September opening to avoid the slow summer and let the conventions start up again. That, I think, is a good strategy.
